Brunch yum

Brunch is one of the most important meals of the week, lazy and delicious all at once. The only question is eat out or cook yourself. Lately I have been doing my own cooking because it has been to hot to eat outside and what's brunch without sitting on the deck.
I have some favorite places around the country that are my brunch favorites and am always looking for more so please feel free to add to the list.

Crooks Corner Chapel Hill NC
Ria's Bluebird Cafe Atlanta Ga.
The Connecticut Yankee San Francisco CA
Can't remember the name of the place in Alphabet city that I like to go always find it by mistake.

This morning it is a garden brunch for me, my garden is completely out of control.

Garden Potatoes
Large frying pan, cast iron is best
1-5 TBS of butter depending on how many potatoes (ie 3 potatoes 2-3 TBS butter)
1 to 2 potatoes per person cubed
at least 1/2 green pepper
at least 1/4 of an onion
salt and pepper to taste
I also add what ever else takes my fancy to the potatoes often chilies
you can toss fresh tomatoes on top if you like but I would rather have them sliced on the side with salt pepper and a touch of sugar

Eggs or scrambled tofu

Mom's Scrambled Tofu
skillet with about a 1 TBS of butter on low medium heat
1 block of tofu crumbled into pan
1/2 cup nutritional yest flakes
1 tsp powdered garlic
at least one TBS tamari or soy sauce to your taste
This is also a basic recipe that I will toss what every takes my fancy.
Now that I am starving and in need of another cup of coffee am headed to the kitchen.

Enjoy your brunch.
